Assistant Professor Recruitment: Out of a total of 32,000 candidates, 17,960 candidates appeared for the assistant professor recruitment exam conducted by Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) across nine cities of Madhya Pradesh. marked an attendance rate of just over 56%.
Some job aspirants reported errors in the answers given for two questions in the General Knowledge paper. The commission said experts will review these errors and further action will be taken based on their report.
This is the first time that the Assistant Professor exam is being conducted after 2017, which has caused some dissatisfaction among the candidates. Some have expressed concern that while the test is usually worth 400 to 450 marks, this time it is being conducted for 900 marks.
MPPSC had set up exam centers in nine cities, 4000 candidates appeared in 11 centers in Indore alone. The recruitment tests scheduled for Sunday included eight subjects as well as tests for the posts of sports officials and librarians. A total of 32,700 people registered for the examination conducted across the state. Apart from Indore, there were examination centers at Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Morena, Rewa, Sagar, Shahdol and Ujjain.
An official said, "No irregularities were reported in the examination. In this first phase, 56% candidates appeared for 826 available posts.”
The exam was held in two shifts on Sunday. The first shift had general studies papers from 10 am to 1 pm, the second shift had subject-specific papers from 1 pm to 4 pm.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 1,669 assistant professor posts in 34 subjects, the examination process is divided into three phases. In the first phase, 826 assistant professors will be recruited and the final phase is expected to be completed by November.
Strict measures have been taken to ensure the fairness of the examination. Authorities conduct strict checks at entry points to prevent impersonation and ensure that no candidate carries electronic devices or unauthorized materials.
The recruitment advertisement was initially released in December 2022, but the exam was postponed three times, leading to delays. More than 400 posts for Assistant Professor posts as well as Librarians and Sports Officers are also included in this recruitment drive.
