Assistant Professor: The application deadline for 4,000 assistant professor posts has been extended till May 15

Assistant Professor Recruitment: Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has extended the deadline for candidates to register themselves for direct recruitment to various Assistant Professor vacancies in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service.  Interested candidates who have not yet applied for the above mentioned vacancies can visit the official website at trb.tn.gov.in and fill the TN TRB Application Form 2024.  Earlier, the deadline for the registration process was April 29;  However, it has now been extended till May 15.


Under the TN TRB recruitment drive, the board is aiming to fill a total of 4,000 Assistant Professors in Government Arts, Science Colleges and Government Colleges of Education in Tamil Nadu.  TN TRB exam may be held on August 4.


TN TRB Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria


Educational Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must possess a Master's degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from a government recognized institution/university.


Age Limit: Applicants applying for the post of Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Government College should be less than 57 years of age as on July 1, 2024.


TN TRB Recruitment 2024: How to Apply?


 Step 1: Visit the official portal of TRB, TN at trb.tn.gov.in.


 Step 2: On the home page under TRB TN Assistant Professor Recruitment 2024, find the recruitment link and click on it.


 Step 3: A new page will appear where you have to enter your personal details.


 Step 4: Then, register yourself and proceed with the application form.


 Step 5: Fill the form with academic and personal details and make payment.


 Step 6: Submit the application form and print it and keep it with you.


TN TRB Recruitment 2024: Exam Pattern, Passing Marks


Talking about the written exam pattern, candidates will be given two papers, collectively carrying 200 marks.  The first paper is divided into two sections, each worth 100 marks.  Section A, which will be conducted for one hour, has 50 compulsory questions, of which 25 are related to Tamil language and the remaining 25 are for general knowledge.  Section B of the preliminary paper consists of eight descriptive questions, where candidates must answer five questions of 10 marks based on their chosen subject.


Similarly, Paper II consists of two sections: Section A, which consists of 50 multiple-choice questions of one mark each and must be completed in one hour, and Section B, in which candidates will be given two hours to answer five out of eight.  Shortlisted candidates will have to go through a 30-mark interview round.


Candidates from general category must secure at least 40 percent marks to qualify the exam.  While applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must score a minimum of 30 percent.
