The total number of vacant seats is 104. Basically admission will be taken in science department. PhD admissions will be open in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geological Sc, Geography, Life Science and Biotechnology and Instrumentation Sc.

Eligibility and Selection Process
Must have the qualification prescribed by UGC. Selection will be done through written test and interview. However, NET/GATE/ICMR-NET/DBT-NET candidates need not appear for RET exam. Applicants who do not have NET have to qualify the RET test conducted by Jadavpur University for admission to PhD (Science).
